Serbian Meetings Industry at IMEX Frankfurt 2024

From May 14 to 16, Serbia Convention Bureau participated in the IMEX Frankfurt, as well as in the accompanying events before the start of the fair.

In addition to SCB, exhibitors from our country were representatives of the following 16 organizations and companies: Tourist Organization of Belgrade, Congress Center "Sava Centar", Air Serbia, as well as hotels: Crowne Plaza Belgrade, Hilton Belgrade, Hyatt Regency Belgrade, Metropol Palace Hotel Belgrade, Mona Plaza, Mövenpick Resort and Spa Fruske Terme, Nobel Hotel Group, Radisson Collection Hotel, Old Mill Belgrade, Saint Ten Hotel, The St. Regis Belgrade and agencies: Balkan Holidays, Balkan-Adriatic DMC, DMC Vekol.

During the three days of the show, the exhibitors at the Serbian stand had pre-scheduled individual appointments, together with a total of four group appointments that were held in the form of a presentation of the destination and the exchange of business contacts with the representatives of the exhibitors. Apart from this, presentations on the topic "Belgrade Welcomes the World at Specialized Expo 2027" were scheduled every day at the stand, and during the last two working hours, a presentation of plum spirit called "Serbian Sljivovica - the Taste of UNESCO".

In addition to activities at the stand, representatives of SCB also participated in a larger number of other activities, above all events organized by the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) and GainingEdge. Among these events are the Association Expert Seminar, ICCA Plenary & Global Advocacy Alliance Forum, Destination Marketing Sector Meeting, Central European Chapter Meeting, ICCA Global Business Exchange and IMEX Association Social, as well as GainingEdge Knowledge Exchange and GainingLeads, and finally the IMEX Gala Dinner and Awards.

The Director of NTO Serbia, Marija Labović, participated on May 13 in the second edition of the Global Forum of National Convention Bureaux, organized by the Strategic Alliance of the National Convention Bureaux of Europe (SANCBE), with the participation of the heads of ICCA (Senthil Gopinath, Chief Executive Officer). IMEX (Carina Bauer, CEO) and PCMA (Sherrif Karamat, CAE, President & CEO). At this event that brought together the leading people in the congress industry, the Convene 4 Climate 2024 event, planned in Barcelona for 2-3 October, was presented, as well as the Sustainability Hub for Events (SHE) initiative, conceived as a global knowledge center for planning sustainable business events.
